COLECTIVO ARRAYANES. PROYECTO DE RECUPERACIÓN DE LOS VALORES DEL PATRIMONIO MINERO INDUSTRIAL, EN EL DISTRITO LINARES-LA CAROLINA. Colectivo Arrayanes. Project for the industrial mining heritage values recuperation in the district Linares-La Carolina.
La última mina de plomo del distrito de Linares se cerró en 1991. El mismo año el Proyecto Arrayanes empezó a formular la necesidad de proteger, conservar e interpretar el patrimonio minero de la región, de gran importancia e increíble riqueza. En 1998 el Colectivo Proyecto Arrayanes se establece como asociación cultural sin ánimo de lucro para conseguir los objetivos formulados en el Proyecto. Trabajando en colaboración con las administraciones locales y regionales, el Colectivo ha catalogado un buen número de emplazamientos mineros del Distrito –actualmente 125- y ha instalado paneles de interpretación a lo largo de una red de senderos, invitando a la población a visitar y conocer el verdadero museo: el territorio.
The last working lead mine in the Linares mining district closed in 1991. The same year the Arrayanes Project came into being, with the aim of protecting, conserving and interpreting the long and incredibly rich mining heritage of the region. In 1998 a non-profit voluntary organisation, the Colectivo Proyecto Arrayanes, came into being to carry out the objectives of the Arrayanes Project. Working with local and regional authorities, the Colectivo have catalogued the number of mine sites in the district – currently 125 – and to provide interpretation panels along a series of heritage walks, inviting people to visit and explore the real museum, the territory.
